Night Photography
To take a photograph at night, it is necessary to
have an exposure time that is much greater, with a good aperture of the lens.
This is because the equipment requires a good amount of light in order to
capture the image in a neat form.
In the following images, we photographed the same
locations twice. In the first, we set the camera in the automatic mode and got a
velocity of 1/30 seconds and an aperture of f/2.2. As you can see, it is
practically impossible to fit in the city, because of the total darkness.
In the second image, we used the camera in manual
mode with a speed of exposure of 30 seconds and an aperture f/5. Because of the
time of exposure, the ambient light of the road was sufficient to light up a
large area. Note that because of this, the whole scene gained a yellowish tone.
We must remember that in the second photo, the
camera was kept supported all the time so that the image would not be blurred.
A minimum movement of the camera would cause the
photo to be out of focus as in the following example.
Effects
Photos of transition are ones preferred by those
who like to play with prolonged periods of exposure during the night. Along with
a tripod, the photographers position themselves at a point higher than the city
and out of preference, in an avenue that has a lot of movement. There,
experimenting with various speeds,
